In 2009, I was given notice at work that my position, along with lots of others, was being eliminated. Unless I decided to move with the company of course. Well, there is practically nothing that would make me move from Orange County, so I opted to stay behind and lose my job. With a new mortgage, a one and a half year old baby and not much in savings, this challenge was issued to me and I tackled it head on. What did I do? I threw myself into being a full-time mom and I became a stay-at-home mami.
As a stay-at-home mom, my salary went by the wayside and we opted to give up our home so that I could stay home full-time. I picked up my blogging and it went from being a hobby, to being my life on display all day, every day.
My life as it is couldn't be better (I take it back - it could be better if we were owning again and I had medical insurance), but aside from that, it couldn't be better. It happened at a time in my life where I had the option of changing my life, and the hubster, though a bit hesitant, stood by me in my decision.
I have the opportunity to stay home with my kids, we were able to have another child and now I have lots of time with them. I no longer have to drop them off in the wee hours of the morning, pick them up late only to have to put them to bed as soon as I get home. It's not the life that I imagined, but it's one that I would never give up.
