Event planner, Raquel Figlio, and the gals (and guy) at Mars Hair Studio really know how to throw a fun ribbon-cutting ceremony.
To prepare for this event, Raquel Figlo of Raquel Figlo Events and Promotions worked closely with Mars Hair Studio to coordinate social media coverage, guests invites and everything else to ensure a successful event. The gift bags, which she also gathered sponsors for, where tailored made for the trendy gals in attendance and included a Dammit Doll, Bangstyle Hair Products and other great products that had me saying, "more!" She also got arranged for Chantel from CCH Photography to be the event's photographer.
The Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce was also on hand to support Mars Hair Studio and awarded them the Certificate of Recognition for the ribbon-cutting event.
The decor was very lively and parts of the studio, such as the hair sink, were creatively used. In that case, the hair bowl was used as a wine bucket that chilled lots of white wine bottles for us. Fresh flowers, balloons and oranges were also infused into the decorations. It spoke to the earth-friendly lifestyle of Mars Hair Studio.
You might see Martis Duarte, owner and head colorist of Mars Hair Studio driving around in a cute little Smart Car and not think much of it. To her and her studio, however, living an earth-friendly lifestyle is something that comes naturally to them. The studio runs on L.E.D. lights, uses low-flow toilets and even the walls were painted with non-toxic paint. The studio is the type that is eco-friendly and it works because the owners are like that as well.
One of my favorite parts of any event is trying out the food. I get to try out new foods and beverages that I might not have been exposed to otherwise. In this case, I had the opportunity of trying out juices and dessert by Earthly Juices of Tustin.
My favorite was a carrot concoction. I had three different ones and one had beets in it - and it tasted good! The folks at Earthly Juices were also generous enough to provide us with a $15 credit toward their Warrior Cleanse Juice (a Gilt City favorite). Honestly, it's like they read my mind because I really need to cleanse.
Appetizers were rounded out thanks to Greek Town Grill of Costa Mesa. They provided a delicious spread including tzatziki, hummus, spanakopita, feta cheese, kalamata olives, dolmades yalatzi and baklava. By the time I left, the platters had been wiped clean. That's how scrumptious their food is.
I'm so glad to have been a part of such a great event honoring an incredible Latina business owner and friend. I wish Martis the best in her business and if you're in the Orange County area, I highly recommend this salon as your go-to hair cutting, coloring and styling salon. She was, after all, one of Orange Coast's top OC hair stylists.
