So. Cal. Event - 2nd Annual Wilderness Celebration in Irvine on 7/28.

OC Parks and Irvine Ranch Conservancy are pleased to present the second anniversary celebration of the Irvine Ranch Open Space on Saturday, July 28 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature self-guided hiking, biking, docent-led hikes, and a special recognition ceremony.

Event attendees will have the opportunity to explore historic Black Star Canyon and the new trails in Baker Canyon. This stunning landscape is known for soaring sandstone cliffs, Red-tailed hawks flying overhead regularly, majestic panoramas of the Santa Ana Mountains, and diverse sage scrub and chaparral habitats with many rare species of plants and animals. Hiking routes of various skill levels and distances will be open including new trail loops. Children can also enjoy the trails with a wilderness themed craft area and an easy nature loop walk.

The second annual wilderness celebration is FREE to the public and also offers FREE parking. Pre-registration is encouraged by visiting: Irlandmarks.org/activities

Refreshments will be available along with a community partner fair to enjoy. Dogs are not permitted at this event. Pets are not allowed in the Irvine Ranch Open Space both for the safety of the pet and the local wildlife.
