When I found out that I was pregnant with my second child the first thought that came to my head was, "oh no... diapers!" Potty training my oldest has been my greatest claim to victory in mamihood. I was not prepared to do it again... and truthfully I'm still not prepared and that's why I keep my kid in Snug & Dry Huggies (the ones with Mickey on them).
I would have loved to do cloth diapers but lack of a diaper service around here rendered it a no-go because this mami is NOT going to wash todo el poop a mano. No, gracias. We'll go the Huggies route until it's time to move one.
So how do I tackle all of parenting's messes and stresses? Con mucho cloro, wipes y paciencia.

Everywhere I go I carry wipes. Not just your regular butt-cleaning Natural Care Huggies wipes, but disinfecting wipes too. You wouldn't believe how many tubs I go through in a year. Wipes have cleaned up more puke, poop and dirt than anything else that I have used. ¿Y el cloro? Well I use that to disinfect all his play things and anything else that comes in second-hand via garage sales. It freaks me out to think that he'll get some crazy disease because he decided to take a toy and lick it clean. I always make sure that his play things are clean before he goes to town on them.
I'm fortunate that my kids take pretty good care of their clothes so I'm not constantly having to search online for the best way to clean mustard off of a white shirt. My clothes? Olvidate. I don't change to go out until we're practically out the door. Their sticky hands have a way of finding themselves on me... always!
Stress? I deal with it using laughter and some deep breaths. My walking one-year old has officially made me THAT mom. The one that everybody stares at and feels bad for. It only occurred to me that I was that type of mami yesterday.

After two hours of being on a catamaran (we went whale watching), my youngest was done. He was walking/crawling everywhere, in between everyone's feet and I actually had to drag him out of the mini-kitchen on board by his feet. When I got up after doing so I saw other parents staring at me and that's when it dawned on me. They had that "look" that spoke a thousand words. So what did I do? I took my kids, sat down on one of the benches and took a deep breath. I accepted what my life was and I laughed because I never thought that I would be the one chasing kids. But I am and I envision myself doing so until I can lay down the law on the baby and raise him right. In the mean time, I'll be gathering stories to tell my grandchildren when the time comes and perhaps I'll post a few on the Huggies Latino Facebook page (there's a chance I win a fully-stocked Huggies diaper bag).
